With more than twelve years of experience in the world of interior design, Emma brings creative vision and a sensitivity to how people live, creating interiors that are both functional and deeply atmospheric.

Trained at the Inchbald School of Design, she spent over five years at Rose Uniacke before becoming Head of Studio at Hollie Bowden, leading a wide range of projects, from listed country homes to large private estates in Ibiza and the Bahamas.

This breadth of experience shaped a versatile design approach: one that bridges architecture and decoration, balancing technical rigour with an intuitive understanding of composition and space.

Emma Prest is an architectural interior designer whose work moves fluidly between the architectural and decorative.

THE PROCESS

Working alongside architects, contractors and specialist makers, Emma steers the overall interior design direction, maintaining a clear and unified vision while drawing on the expertise of others. Collaboration and on-site presence throughout the process ensure that the design intent is upheld from beginning to end, and that every detail is resolved with creativity and purpose. The stages of a typical project follow RIBA standards: Look & Feel | Concept Design | Developed Design | Detailed Design | Site Supervision. FF&E design and specification typically run concurrently with these stages, allowing the architectural and decorative elements to evolve together as a cohesive whole.

With a meticulous eye for detail, Emma’s work embraces everything from the bones of a building to the finer points of joinery, upholstery and finishing.

Finsing & ART

Working closely with her trusted joiners, upholsterers and makers, Emma specifies every detail to ensure each design is executed with precision and care.

A long-standing passion for antique and twentieth-century furniture underpins her approach. Drawing on an extensive network of dealers and galleries across the UK and Europe, she sources pieces that build the story of each interior, layering moments of contrast that bring it to life.

Art is woven seamlessly into this process. Emma works closely with an art consultant to integrate art thoughtfully into the design narrative – whether helping clients to incorporate existing collections, build upon them, or begin new collections as part of the project.
